Visitor Guidelines

We have had an increase in questions concerning our visitation guidelines. Please know that these are subject to change as we continue to adapt to updated guidance from DHS, CMS, and the CDC.

As always, if you have specific questions, please call our dedicated infection control phone at 608-636-5498. You can also find the most up-to-date information on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/newglarushome66 and on our COVID19 page here: https://www.nghome.org/coronavirus-covid-19

Currently, our visiting hours are 7 days a week; from 9am-11:30am and 1pm-4:30pm. There are no age restrictions and there is not a limit to number of visitors; but the location of the visit may be affected by number of visitors to allow appropriate space and social distancing.

Vaccinated & unvaccinated visitors will be required to wear a mask inside buildings at all times. Many of our guidelines apply to vaccinated or unvaccinated visitors but please view the applicable guidelines below:

Vaccinated visitors

These core principles of Infection Prevention must be used during visits:

  • You will be asked a series of questions that must be answered truthfully

  • You will be offered an Antigen Covid-19 test with results will be available in 15 minutes and must be negative before entering resident care areas. Results will be reported to the CDC through their NHSN reporting portal

  • You must perform hand hygiene upon entry to the facility, before and after visiting and after touching your face or face mask

  • You will be given a name badge to wear identifying you as a visitor. Please wear it during your visit. Visitor passes must be returned to the screening area by 11:30 and 4:30. Exceptions must be pre-approved at the screening desk

  • You must follow the route given to your designated visiting area and return here following the same route. You may not deviate from that route or stop to visit with other residents, staff or visitors along the way. Stay in the designated visiting area (room or lounge) If you need assistance during your visits use the call light system. Do not go into kitchenettes or nurse’s stations.

  • A medical grade mask will be provided. You must maintain a social distance of 6 feet from other people and wear a mask.

  • Please remember to use the restroom before your visit.

  • We ask that you not unnecessarily touch handrails, doorknobs, bedside tables or other surfaces in lounges, resident rooms or hallways.

  • The number of visitors that can see one resident is dependent on space availability

  • If the resident you are visiting is fully vaccinated and consents to close contact including touch you may do so briefly. Perform hand hygiene before and after then return to social distancing.

  • Visitors who are unable or unwilling to adhere to these core principles of Covid-19 Infection Prevention will not be permitted or will be asked to leave.
